Austin

Friday P. Daddy took the day off, and we headed to Austin for the weekend! We stayed with our good friends, the Lopez family. Friday night, we went out to a really fun restaurant where they had an outdoor playscape. It was REALLY crowded, but we had a great time! P. Daddy went out with some friends that night, while us girls stayed in, and had some "girly time". Saturday, we woke up early to watch Neeks play soccer. It was FREEZING outside! So much so, that I couldn't even play on the playground, because the metals were hurting my hands! We later returned to their house, where we hung around and played. I really enjoyed playing on the playscape in the backyard. We also got to play hide n seek, which was fun. That afternoon, Mommy and P. Daddy showed me where they went to college. They kept saying that the whole area had changed quite a bit. It's now known as SO-CO, for one thing! We watched Neeks' daddy play soccer on campus, walked around quite a bit, and had lunch outside. It turned out to be a really warm and beautiful day. We went out to eat with everyone at another family restaurant. That one also had a playscape, but more importantly, there was a live band. They handed out bling to all of the kids, and I danced my heart out with Mommy! I was so tired that night, that I fell asleep at around 6pm, on the way home from the restaurant, and slept really good that night! Sunday we met Thomas and Kim for lunch at the Oasis. The lake was beautiful, and the weather could not have been nicer. The restaurant is a major improvement from the way it was before the big fire. Anyhow, I enjoyed seeing Thomas and Kim. This picture was taken outside of the Oasis. There are a bunch of fountains and statues that I was looking at!

Lady Bugs

The lady bugs are out in full wing, errr swing around here! Can you spot the ladybug on my arm? It was tickling me, so I laughed! Here I am, having a picnic lunch with a lady bug, and Papa, Mommy, and Ansley just this afternoon!

Slumber Party

I LOVE to have "pretend" slumber parties! Mommy lets me climb into Ansley's crib, and I pretend to sleep with her. I tell her stories and sing her songs, because that's what you do at a slumber party! (I'll post video of our slumer party in just a minute!) Last week, Mommy, Ansley, and I were ALL sick with a nasty cold. We did not leave the house ALL week! Needless to say, I was going absoultely stir crazy by the end of the week! Luckily, Nana came over and watched Ansley and I Friday night, so that Mommy and P. Daddy could have a date night. Nana and I read lots of books, and she showed me how to cut little hearts out of construction paper! Saturday and Sunday we also hung out with Nana, Papa, and Lele, which was fun. Nana even took me to the park yesterday!

Sleeping Beauty...Er, Cinderella

I didn't want Mommy to post this picture, but she said she thought it was too cute! I was playing dress up this week, and fell asleep with my princess shoes on! What can I say? Glamour never sleeps! Monday we decided to go to a playgroup at the park, because it was too nice to be indoors. We had a picnic with my friends and fed the ducks. Tuesday was music class, which I LOVE! We pretended to work on the railroad, and I even sang into the microphone. Wednesday was a LLL meeting, and I spent the two hours playing with my "big girl" friends. Thursday we went to a new story time with one of my friends. I really enjoyed it. That night, Nana and Papa "big kid-sat" me while Mommy and P. Daddy took Ansley to Baptism class. I really enjoyed playing with them! Friday, Mommy and I hosted a Valentine's party for our LLL group. It was pretty fun. I enjoyed eating the food and playing with my friends. I even did a really good job of sharing my toys! This week I also started going to the bathroom completely independently!! Mommy and P. Daddy are really proud of me! Nana and Papa let me spend the night with them on Friday night, which was awesome! In the morning, we built a tent in their bed and pretend played! Then, Nana came over and got in the hottub with me, Mommy, and P. Daddy. Lele came over to Nana's house Saturday, and we all ate dinner together. We also went shopping for some summer clothes for our Padre trip. I got some really cute stuff....thanks again, Mommy and Nana! Today, I played outside ALL day. We went in the hottub again, played hide and seek, helped P. Daddy wash his car, had a picnic in the yard, walked to the park, hiked in the woods, and played on the playground. I helped Mommy bake some brownies after dinner, which was also fun!

Winter Swimming!

It was SO nice this weekend, that P. Daddy heated up the hot tub BOTH days! Nana came over on Saturday and played with me, and Mommy and P. Daddy hung out with me on Sunday! I LOVE my new swimsuit (thanks, Nana!)

Weather Unpredictable

The weather here has been crazy the past few weeks. One day, it'll be dreary and 30 degrees, then two days later, it's sunny and almost 80!! We are certainly enjoying these 80 degree days as they come though! We've been doing our usual activities: art, music classes (yeah- they started again! The theme this semester is things that go: so think "I've Been Working on the Railroad"), story time (Mommy moved me up with the preschoolers, which I am glad about), and plenty of play. Mommy and I are hosting a Valentine's party next week for our LLL group, so we've been busy planning the menu (chocolate covered strawberries and quiche) and making valentine's cards for all of my peeps. In between, when the sun comes out, we've been taking walks to the park to hike in the woods; collecting things (sticks, rocks, and other items of interest) along the way, looking at the horses (as depicted), feeding the ducks, and of course, playing on the playground! I can't believe how quickly I am growing. Most of my winter pants are already too short for me (Mommy just bought them about a month ago!) I am really keeping my fingers crossed that I will be tall enough to ride the ferris wheel at the Fair next year! Papa Don, we all hope you get to feeling better!
