Park Fun

Last week was packed full of excitement. We attended Story Time, a playgroup, hung out with Papa Don, and more. Over the weekend, Mommy and P. Daddy took me to the park. I blew bubbles, swang on the swings, went down the slide, fed some ducks, rode my bike, etc. etc.! It was really fun. My Nana has been out of town visiting family. She's coming home today and I can't wait! I've missed you, Nana! I ask Mommy about you almost daily. Mommy also tells me she and I will be heading (on a plane!!!!) to SPI pretty soon to visit Grandma and Grandpa S. I know that will be a TON of fun! Mommy bought a new cool backpack to wear me in (for the airport, because it's too cumbersome to push a stroller and carry all of our luggage). We've been doing some practice rides in it. I didn't much care for it initially, but I rode in it to Story Time this morning and had fun! Posted by Picasa

2nd Snow Day

We had another snow day last week (although most people had to go to work, including P. Daddy). Papa Don was lucky enough to have the day off, so Mommy and I went over to his house and played in the snow. Here we are, having a snowball fight! It was SOOOO much fun! Thank you, Papa Don! Last week was packed full of excitement. Monday was Story Time. Tuesday I helped Mommy with the laundry and household chores. Wednesday was the snow day with Papa Don. Thursday was music class. We even got to have cookies in juice, because it was a party! On Friday, Mommy took me to the mall to have my 18 month pictures taken. After the pictures, we played at the indoor playground. There was also a hockey team practicing on the ice rink, so I watched them slam the puck (mostly into the wall). Then, we had lunch and did some light shopping. Over the weekend it was really cold and rainy, so unfortunately, we didn't get out much! R&R had us over yesterday for gumbo and football. That was really fun as well! Posted by Picasa

More Snow!

Mommy and Papa on helped me to build this snowman! I know he's not the biggest, but he sure is beautiful! Posted by Picasa

Snow Angels

There was even enough snow for Mommy to teach me how to make a snow angel! I think mine turned out the best! Posted by Picasa

More Fun

Here I am playing with mt steam train. I LOVE watching it go around, making it stop, filling the train car with water, touching the steam (don't worry, it's cold), and saying "Chooo Choooo" repeatedly! Thanks again, Uncle Steve! Posted by Picasa

18 Month Update

I'm officially one and a half years old! I have been growing like crazy, or so everyone tells me. I have been learning my colors. I am very accurate about black, blue, pink, and red. I still need help with yellow, green, purple, and orange. I am also learning how to count. My favorite number is two, mostly because I find it really easy to say! I am also working on shapes. I have a really fun shape puzzle that I like to play with. I am starting to put two or more words together, forming short sentences. Mommy counted the other day (just for fun), and apparently I know how to say over 60 words! I know many concepts, some of which include up & down, in & out, together & apart, forwards & backwards. I am feeding myself (of course, I've been able to do this now for a really long time, but now, I am more accurate, even with the messy foods like applesauce , yogurt, and even cereal with milk)! I am still a really good eater. I like fruits, vegetables, and meat. I also like pasta a lot. I'm still not really fond of potatoes, unless they're in the form of french fries! I can throw AND catch a ball! P. Daddy has been working really hard the past few weeks, at teaching me the catching part. I can also kick a ball. I can also stand on one leg. I am learning how to jump as well. I LOVE games like Ring Around the Rosies and Hide N Seek. I can also do finger plays like Where is Thumbkin and The Itsy Bitsy Spider, although I can't always sing all of the words. I really enjoy listening to music (all kinds) and dancing. I imitate everything I see as well. For example, if Mommy is sweeping the kitchen, I want to sweep the kitchen. I can also pretend play really well. I like to feed all of my dolls and animals (including nursing them)! I enjoy talking on the telephone. I also remember and recognize my relatives. Mommy shows me pictures, so I know who everyone is. I frequently ask her and P. Daddy about everyone, including Lele, Nana, Papa Don, Thomas, Grandma and Grandpa S., Ryan, MoMo, Gigi, Nikos, etc. And of course, I am still really into animals. I enjoy listening to my Mommy read stories about their antics. I am developing a sense of humor as well. I think a lot of things are really funny, and I try to point out humor to anyone who will listen to me! I fancy myself a big girl now, especially because I am potty trained and wear "big girl" underwear. I like to try and do everything by myself. I have a lot of friends, and enjoy playing with them. I can't believe I'm going to have another birthday in 6 months!! Posted by Picasa

Feeding Ducks

Well, now that the holidays have passed, we're back in a routine. Mommy and I started walking again (because the weather has been unusually warm-until today of course!) Here I am feeding the ducks at the park. Mommy and I thought this picture was hilarious, because look where the bread I just threw is!!! We started attending Story Time at the library again. I really enjoy listening to the stories AND picking out books to check out. We also started attending LLL meetings again. Mommy was actually approached and recommended to become a leader. So, she's started that process. Music classes are back in swing. I have moved up into the "big" kid classes, which is pretty exciting for me. This semester, we actually get our very own instruments to take home and practice with!! Friday, we had some friends over for a playgroup. I was really good about sharing all of my toys. I hope my friends had as much fun as I had! Last night, we had some freezing rain. Lucky for us, because today is a holiday, P. Daddy didn't have to drive in to work! He attached my train set to a huge piece of wood, making it easier for me to play with. Thank you, P. Daddy!!! Posted by Picasa

Fun, Fun, Fun

For those of you who knew I have been feeling sick, I am now doing MUCH better. Last week, Mommy and I built a fort in the living room. It was really cool and fun to hide in there. I liked for Mommy to read books to me, while sitting in the fort. I also helped (supervise) Mommy, P. Daddy, Nana, Aunt Lele, and cousin Brian to re-wallpaper the laundry room. It looks b-e-a-utiful now! I also did some dancing with my dolls (as depicted above). Mommy wanted to post this picture in particular, to show that my hair is long enough for PIGTAILS!!! She just cannot believe how quickly I am growing! Story Time started up this morning (after a long break for the holidays). My music class starts up again this week as well, so Mommy and I are really looking forward to that! Posted by Picasa

Fort

Here I am with my Nana in the fort. It's kind of hard to tell, because the flash lightened everything up, but it's really dark in there. That's why I turn the nightlight on! Posted by Picasa

Helping Mommy

I LOVE to help Mommy out in the kitchen. She sometimes lets me help her stir things up. Here, I am stirring some dough for Mommy to make bread! Posted by Picasa

Lakehouse

This past weekend, Mommy, P. Daddy, and I went to the lakehouse. We spent some time with Auntie MoMo, Grandma and Grandpa S., Aunt Christie, and my cousin Ryan. Here I am looking at a book with my Grandma S. and Ryan. I had a lot of fun playing, dancing, and reading with my Grandma, and everyone at the lake. We also played outside, hitting some balls from a T-ball set I got for Christmas. We took walks, blew bubbles, and set off fireworks. I really liked looking at the sparklers, but I didn't care much for the big fireworks, because they hurt my ears. (Of course, it didn't help that I developed an ear infection, and had to go to the emergency room on Sunday). I am feeling much better now, as I have medicine. Posted by PicasaHappy New Year to everyone! I don't really have a resolution at this point. Maybe just to keep on learning, and being a good girl!

More Lake

Here I am, with Grandpa S., taking a walk. He was so much fun, pointing out different puddles for me to jump in. I LOVE jumping in puddles! Posted by Picasa
