Party!

Memorial Day was a blast! We had a bunch of people over for a family gathering. Even some cousins from MI came down! I was really disappointed that it rained though, I was hoping to swim. Mommy and I have been singing the "Rain Rain Go Away" song every day, but it just keeps coming back! Other than that, we've been and assortment of things. Mommy has been taking me to a craft store for toddler time on Tuesdays (since there is no story time in May :( ). That has been pretty fun. Last week, I made a beaded necklace, and today, I glued some poms onto some foam sunglasses. Music is over for the summer, so I am sad about that. Mommy and I plan to do lots of swimming and playgroups!

22 Month Update

Two more months until my 2nd birthday! The party plans are already under way! I definitely want a "Backyardigans" party. I also told Mommy today, that I want an ice cream cake. I cannot wait! Developmentally, I am no longer a baby. In fact, Nana and Mommy made up a song I like to sing with them. It goes, "I'm a big girl now, not a baby anymore". P. Daddy converted my crib into a toddler bed yesterday! Mommy and P. Daddy were SO proud when I slept all the way through the night, and didn't even get out of my "big girl" bed. I am really excited about being a big girl. This allots me quit a few privileges, including: being able to eat apples and ice cream, being able to go on bike rides, being able to swim in the ocean, being able to use the "big" potty, using small toys that a baby might choke on, and Mommy even lets me pick out my own clothes to wear each morning. I now know all of my letters. I can count to 11, but I'm still working on number recognition. Mommy is already talking about sending me to school next Fall (when I am 3). I am looking forward to the arrival of our new baby in November. I keep asking Mommy if I can hold the baby then. Summer is under way here, and I am looking forward to lots of swimming. I'm not taking lessons this year, but I have a cool swimsuit with built in floaties, that help me keep my face above water!

Back From the Beach

We got back from SPI this weekend, after a long week of fun in the sun! The weather was beautiful, and the ocean was really warm. I was not afraid of the water at all. In fact, because the pool was so cold, I did most of my swimming outdoors, in the ocean. We went to the sea turtle rescue, and I fed the turtles some lettuce. I became as master sea shell hunter, as depicted above! I learned how to boogie board. I watched P. Daddy and PT (my awesome cousin from the North) skim board....I think they did a lot better than anyone expected! I went on a fishing trip and even ate our fresh catch. I went out for ice cream (my favorite- birthday cake flavor of course!) I went for walks on the beach, played in the sand, splashed in the water, watched PT fly a kite, went for bike rides, and more I cannot even remember at the moment! It was an absolute blast! I already cannot wait to go back!

SPI Continued

This is me learning how to fish. The boat was really cool, and went pretty fast. I enjoyed holding the rod, and I even helped my Nana and Molly bait their hooks! Yep, that's right....I wasn't scared of the bait at all! (Of course, it was only shrimp...)

Fun!

Grandma and Grandpa S. returned from their trip to DC. I was SOOOOO happy to see them! Here I am, playing with my Grandma S. We went to their house for dinner last week. I got to see my Aunt Christie, cousin Ryan, and Uncle Steve as well. It was fun. Grandma and Grandpa S. brought back some really neat pamphlets from all of the places they traveled to. Speaking of traveling, I am leaving for SPI on Friday with Mommy and P. Daddy. Mommy and I are doing laundry and packing today! I cannot wait! I packed my swimsuit, my Dora sandals, and I am ready to go! I am already talking about all of the fun I am going to have, visiting the turtles (and feeding them lettuce), playing in the sand (I want to dig with my shovel), and swimming in the pool (I am still kind of scared of the ocean). I also want to collect some more sea shells. My mommy's cousin, PT is coming with us, and I am looking forward to seeing him again. (I first met him on a trip to Michigann, when I was a baby.) Mommy has been telling me a lot about him. Don't be surprised if I am not able to post a blog for another two weeks (until we return)....just know that I'll be having a BLAST!!!

Bath Time

Here I am enjoying my bath. The other night, we had a really bad storm, and lost electricity for about 12 hours. Mommy and P. Daddy gave me a bath by candelight, which was really cool. I really enjoy the water. I pretend to make soup, then I stir it, then I squat in it (I recently learned the word "squat" from my Nana, and think it's a pretty cool concept). I also enjoy playing with my stick on numbers and letters. I also like to write on the walls of the bathtub, with my bath crayons.
