20 Month Update

The offical countdown to my birthday has begun! Only four more months! This past month has been CRAZY as far as my health goes. Many of you know, I had some testing done, and am being treated after the results came back. Mommy and I also caught a virus last week, and have been "down" for days! (My apologies for the lack of posting last week, but I am sure you can understand!) Both of us are feeling somewhat better, but not completely. We're still trying to "lie low" for a few more days. I am talking ALL THE TIME now! I pretty much speak in complete sentences. I am still repeating anything and everything I hear. I started to sing songs on my own now. I don't always know all the words, but I try! My favorite song, as a lot of y'all know, is "Bow wow wow, who's dog are thou.." I always sing, "Bow wow wow, whose wow wow", and Mommy thinks it's really cute! I can now jump and am getting more adventurous about climbing independently. I enjoy pretend play. I really like to pretend to cook things in my kitchen (my favorite being cake, of course!) I am also getting along really well with the friends I have made. I am really good at taking turns, and sharing my toys. I can count to seven. I know more letters this month. I also know all of my basic shapes. I am learning more obscure colors. I am learning about manners and how to ask for things I want (nicely). I still really like hanging out with Frisco (as depicted above). I even go outside and call for him (just like Mommy does!) My interests now include penguins, painting, cooking/baking, and picking out my own clothes.

Spring Break

Over spring break, I was very excited, because my cousin RyRy got to come and stay with us for two nights! I thought it was really cool having him around. In fact, I've been asking my mom about him and his mom almost every single day since he left! We had a really good time, going to the Aquarium, doing science projects, reading books, riding on the train, playing at the playground, having a picnic, and playing with Frisco! Here I am, sitting next to RyRy on the train. It was REALLY cold the morning we went!

We're Home Safe

Despite my illness, I did manage to have a lot of fun on my trip to the island. I really enjoyed spending time with my Gamma and Papa Seem. I especially enjoyed knocking my Gramma to the floor, and helping her up (a special game we played together). I swam and played in the pool. I also got to go to the Turtle Rescue (twice!), which was really cool. I helped to feed the turtles their favorite treat- lettuce! I went to the Aquatic Life Center as well, where I got to touch a starfish, see a bunch of sea creatures, and hang out with more turtles. (I really wanted to hold a turtle)! I was sad to see my Gamma, Papa Seem, and P. Daddy go, but I continued to have fun with my Uncle Thomas and Papa Don. We went on bike rides, played at the beach, took walks, went on a nature hike (we could NOT find the alligator, much to our disappointment!), and just hung out. We are all home safe now, and doing well!

Here I am digging in the sand. I had a GREAT time just shoveling sand, throwing it, playing with water in a bucket, and burying my shoes!

General Update

Sorry no pictures this time....we're still at the beach, and unable to upload them and/or link them to the blog. For those of you who may be worried about me, I am starting to feel better. My health problems began last Wedesday, when my Mommy suspected I may have a UTI. She and P. Daddy took me to the ER late that night, which was a bad experience, to say the very least. The hospital was filthy, and the doctor was basicaly an idiot. My condition gradually worsened, and so by Friday, my parents took me to a clinic on the island. I was having a high fever and a really bad cough. The nurse practitioner who saw me, said I was just getting a cold. The following day, my fever spiked again and Mommy and P. Daddy decided it was time to take me to yet another (thankfully CLEAN) ER on Saturday afternoon. Thank God they did. The physician there ran a myriad of tests and (more accurately) determined I was suffering from Pnemonia, the Flu (both strains A&B), and a touch of UTI. I was also dehydrated, given IV fluids, and admitted into the hospital for the night. There, they pumped me full of antibiotics, more fluids, and gave me many breathing treatments. I was released the following day, and had my follow-up appointment this morning. I had to get another shot (antibiotic), and am finally starting to feel better. I am slowing regaining my appetite. Mommy says she is thankful we are still nursing, because that has been my only source of nurishment for the last few days (because I wouldn't drink much else, and I would not eat). Anyhow, I just wanted to update everyone. We're doing a lot of fun things on the island, and I'll post some pictures and stories when I get back (next week). For those of you who pray, please be thinking about me!
