Aunt Chris

My Aunt Chris came to visit me over the weekend! I had a LOT of fun playing with her. She helped me cook some food in my kitchen, she read me some stories, and I showed her some moves from my music class. Thanks again, Chris! Last week was filled with fun. We went to Story Time, did some grocery shopping, went to a LLL meeting, hung out with Papa Don and Nana, sang/danced in music class, and had a playgroup. Over the weekend, P. Daddy and Nana started demolition work on the trailer in the backyard. They are making it into a playhouse for me!! I cannot wait until it's finished! Because today is a holiday, P. Daddy is off! We went and did a craft (for toddlers) at the craft store in our neighborhood. It was really fun. I got to decoupage a picture frame. I used all of my favorite colors, including black, pink, purple, and yellow! Mommy is constantly talking about out upcoming trip to the beach. She's even started packing already. I am really looking forward to seeing my Grandma and Grandpa S. (I miss you guys!) Anyhow, please don't be surprised if I don't blog for a few weeks. I'm going to be out of town until March 10th. I'm sure I'll have some GREAT pictures to post then though!

Dog House

This is the dog house Mommy and P. Daddy made for me. I love playing inside of it. I even have Christmas lights all over it now, so I can see when I close the door and windows! I like to play peek-a-boo from the door and windows. It's helping learn more about the concepts of open/close, in/out, and on/off.

19 Month Update

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, so I'm wishing everyone lots of love! On Valentine's Day, I will be 19 months old! Mommy and P. Daddy just cannot believe how quickly I have grown. I am speaking in short sentences now. I have a memory like a steel trap. My vocabulary is very extensive. I've been working on my colors, and now know (consistently) red, yellow, white, brown, black, blue, and pink. I still have some trouble with green, orange, and grey. I am also learning my letters. I know A, B, C, O, M, and Y very well. I am learning how to spell my name. I am also working on numbers and counting, but don't really know any of them consistently yet. I know most of my shapes, and the shape sorter is now a breeze for me! I am still a really big fan of Elmo. In fact, next week, I am going to see him live!! I also like trains, dinosaurs, and dolls. I have really enjoyed pretending to cook in my kitchen the past few weeks. I also like to read books, do puzzles, and listen to music.

Fun With Papa

Last week was packed full of fun (as always)! Mommy and I went to Story Time, where we learned more about colors. Tuesday and Wednesday, we hung out with my Papa Don (yeah, he had 2 whole days off together!) We went on a bike ride, to the park, and just played at his house. I had LOTS of fun with Papa at the park. Here he is, helping me feed the ducks. He also helped me swing (on the BIG kid swings for the 1st time!), slide, and climb. Thanks again, Papa! We also attended a LLL meeting, where I got to play with my friends, while Mommy talked with hers. Thursday, it was off to music class, which I love! I must brag about myself too. My teacher started asking the children to sing (yes, outloud, in front of the entire class) into a microphone. Lots of kids really wanted to do it, but when the microphone was in front of them, they couldn't muster up the courage. I told Mommy I wanted to do it. I asked her to walk to the microphone with me (which she did), and I actually sang into the microphone!!!! The whole class applauded!! Mommy was SO VERY PROUD of me! Friday we went to the pet store and browsed. I saw some birds, two rabbits, some turtles, some cats, ferrets, and some fish. After the pet store, we went to my favorite toystore. We needed to pick up some things for our upcoming trip to the beach. It was really fun! I played with a huge train set, rode in some cars, tried out all of the triclyces, swept an entire aisle, and looked at all of the toys! Saturday Mommy and P. Daddy built a doghouse for me and my animals. It turned out really nice. Mommy is still working on the interior. Sunday I spent the morning with my Nana, which was so fun, I'm still talking about it. In the afternoon, my friend Richelle came over and brought me lots of Mardi Gras bling she got at a fancy ball in her hometown! P. Daddy also spent the day building a loft in my toy room. Now, I have a LOT more room to play! Yesterday, I was sick all day and went to the doctor because I had an infection. I am taking medicine nnow and am doing much better. The trip to the doctor's office was NOT fun, however. I also had my first Valentine's party which was really fun. Mommy helped me make some Valentine's for all of my friends. Today, some men are here working on our pool (we're getting new tile and coping). Mommy and P. Daddy are very excited about that!

Horse Show

This weekend was really fun. On Saturday, Mommy took me to one of our favorite small towns for a visit with my friends, Neeks and Diggy. Here I am with them, playing with animals on the table. Although it was a short visit, it was really fun! We jumped on the bed, played hide n seek, played peek-a-boo, played with toys, colored, and went out to lunch. While the kids were busy playing, Mommy had time to catch up with her bestest friend, J. Lo. Sunday was the Super Bowl, of course. Mommy, P. Daddy, and I went to Papa Don and Nana Sweetie's house for the event. Although I wasn't much into the football game, Nana had made cake, so I was happy! Did I mention that the cake was chocolate? I loved it SO much, that the first thing I said when I woke up in the middle of the night was "Eat cake!" I haven't been able to stop talking about cake since! Thanks again, Nana!!
