Zoo & Strawberry Patch

So as you all know, I have learned all about zoos in my homeschool. To wrap it up, Mommy, P. Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa all took me to the zoo. I decided to bring my "pretend" Fricso. I pretended I was a marsupial, and carried him all day in the pouch Mommy helped me make out of my jacket. The zoo was awesome! We picked a good day, because it was overcast, and most people avoided the zoo! In the above picture, I am sitting with my sister on a safari tram. I had never been on a safari before! We saw all sorts of animals found only in Africa (aside from the zoo of course)! This particular zoo has all sorts of nooks and crannies you can climb up and into. Here I am with my Grandma, climbing down some secret steps we found! It was definitely an adventure. We saw crocs, all types of monkeys, a myriad of birds, tigers, and more. We stopped to have a picnic lunch halfway though, and we even found this doodle bug! I thought it tickled when I let it crawl on my arm! Next came the gorilla. She was really funny. She kept picking her nose and licking her finger! It was disgusting! After watching her rude behavior, we continued on to the kids section. There was a playscape, a petting zoo, a really cool fish tank, and a science center. The highlight for me though, was this stream. I wore my rain boots, but later took them off so I could splash some more! It was SO fun, wading in the water. After we saw some big cats and more birds, we went into the bug house. THAT place was cool! They had dissections of a bee hive and ant mound, which were really cool to see, since I've already learned all about them!

Last week, we went to a farm and picked our own strawberries. It was SUPER windy that day, so we didn't stay too long. We picked about two pounds of strawberries! They were so good and fresh! We made a strawberry pie and have been making strawberry smoothies with ice cream!
